Calima Saga: development manifesto
Calima Saga is born with the desire to create video games and books that transmit the ideas we like without the pressure of external agents or concessions against our vision and/or principles. We have decided to compile our basic guidelines into this manifesto because we want them to be clear to our customers and we believe that many of them may share them and want to support us on this journey.
No strings attached
All the tools and/or programs used in Calima Saga are open source or at least free, as far as possible. Our philosophy in this regard is to support those who want to venture into creating their own companies and projects, showing that it is possible to do so without large investments or intermediaries.
No tricks
All video games and books created by Calima Saga will always offer a free trial version of a minimum length equal to one third of its complete content. In this way our customers can get a very approximate idea of the product they are trying, verify that it works correctly and have all the possible information if they decide to buy it. This also allows us to save precious time on laborious refunds, which we don’t carry out.
No greed
Much of the work done in Calima Saga depends on a single person, and he does it mainly because he enjoys it. Of course he also has to earn a living from it but not at the cost of inflating prices: all the video games and books offered on the Calima Saga portal will be priced between 50SEK and 200SEK, depending on the difficulty of making their content and not of its success. If offered via other distributors or platforms, the price may vary slightly depending on their commission policy: at Calima Saga we understand that they want to earn their share, but we consider that more than 10% is disproportionate and we will increase the price on a case-by-case basis to maintain our humble profit margin.
No classes
For those who want to further support the development of Calima Saga there will be collaborative versions of each product. These versions will provide some additional aesthetic options and badges, but never more content or additional capabilities.
No abandonment
In addition to maintenance updates for all its products, Calima Saga is committed to thank and correspond to the interest of our customers in them:
-
If a certain game reaches the figure of 100k units sold (counting double the collaborative versions), an expansion will be developed for it totally free for the owners of the original game, with an extension of new content at least identical to that of the game original.
-
If a certain game reaches the figure of 300k units sold (counting double the collaborative versions), a second expansion will be developed for it totally free for the owners of the original game, with an extension of new content at least identical to that of the original game.
-
If a certain book reaches the figure of 100k units sold (counting double the collaborative versions), a prequel, sequel or other story related to the characters and events of the volume will be written totally free for the owners of the original book, with a minimum content of 50 pages.

No robberies
Most video games will be offered on multiple platforms (PC, android, etc …), as many as possible due to the technologies used to develop it and the available infrastructure. However, only one purchase will be necessary to enjoy them anywhere. The different versions will always be available to customers on the Calima Saga portal.
No disdain
All video games and books published by Calima Saga will be offered in as many languages as possible. By default they will include catalan, english and spanish, the only ones that the creator can use with a minimum of fluency, but they will always provide a simple external format to add those that the community wants to contribute with.
